Position Overview: Business Intelligence Analyst / Data Analyst

UnitedHealth Group (UHG) is seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Analyst with a strong foundation in analytics and data visualization to support internal clients by delivering impactful business insights and reports. This role involves working closely with business users to understand their requirements and provide analytical solutions using BI tools and techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business problems and respond to analytical requests across different domains.

• Generate analytical findings using UHG-specific databases, based on specifications from internal clients.

• Engage with business users to gather and understand requirements.

• Prepare and manage project plans for report development and ensure timely execution.

• Design and develop impactful presentations and client-ready documents.

• Perform quality checks for accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data and reports.

• Design, deploy, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Tableau or Power BI.

• Work with Big Data and Cloud Data Structures to conduct ad-hoc analysis.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (4-year university degree)

• 5–6 years of business experience in analytics or BI projects

• Strong understanding of Descriptive Analytics techniques (e.g., Hypothesis Testing, Clustering, Segmentation)

• Proficiency in analytics tools: Python, R, and BI tools

• Deep project-level experience with Tableau / Power BI

• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking

• Ability to manage teams and client relationships

• Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written)

• Ability to work independently or in a team within a deadline-driven environment

• High level of accountability and project ownership

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Big Data environments and cloud-based data platforms

• Prior experience in client-facing roles

• Familiarity with healthcare or insurance data domains (advantageous, if applicable)
