Job Summary:

The Cloud DevOps Engineer is responsible for managing, supporting, and enhancing cloud operations for United's Passenger Service System (PSS), which powers critical processes like reservations, seat management, inventory, and day-of-flight operations. This role focuses on process automation, modern DevOps practices, and site reliability engineering (SRE) principles.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide DevOps support while streamlining and automating operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Automation & Development: Design and develop automation processes for application deployment, configuration, scaling, and monitoring.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Create, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve operational efficiency.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks to enhance responsiveness, availability, and scalability.
• Cloud Deployment: Build and maintain highly scalable cloud ecosystems capable of handling high availability and scale using public cloud providers like AWS.
• Modern Deployment Strategies: Utilize deployment models such as Canary and Blue/Green deployments for robust release processes.
• Operational Tools: Develop tools to accelerate daily operations for support teams.
• Collaboration: Partner with development, platform, and support teams to ensure DevOps compliance in new projects and systems.
• Innovation & Learning: Stay updated on tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and mentor team members on DevOps automation practices.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience:
  • 7+ years in educational technology or related roles
  • 5+ years in DevOps or SRE for mission-critical applications
  • Strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Proficiency in managing, optimizing, and building CI/CD pipelines (Harness experience preferred)
  • Expertise in high-availability, distributed systems, including hardware, OS, storage, and database solutions
  • Proven ability in software deployment automation and continuous delivery practices
  • Strong networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, SSH, HTTP, TCP/IP)
  • Experience troubleshooting large-scale Linux environments
  • Knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Legal Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in India without sponsorship
• Language: Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
• Other: Completion of the interview process and reliable attendance

Preferred:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
